Understand the land, don’t just photograph it: volcanoes, salt, people and the geography of the Rift.
The Journey
Our specialist-style Afar expedition, with a day focused on people rather than scenery and an extended Dallol geology day. Suited to photographers, geologists, documentary travellers, researchers and writers.
Built for travellers who want interpretation: how the Rift formed this landscape, and how water, livestock, salt and mobility shape daily life in Afar.

Operating subject to current access and conditions

Our experienced local team makes these decisions with safety and the quality of the experience in mind.
